This reverting serial features a love-triangle with a terrorist and lawyer as two of the protagonist. Akbari Asghari is a story of two brothers, Hatim and Luqman, and their families. Both brothers live along with their families in two distant corners of the world. Hatim lives in the US with his daughters, whereas Luqman lives with his sons in a village of the Punjab. The brothers decide to marry their children to one another.

The result is four different personalities, with opposing habits and natures - Akbari and Asgari, Akbar and Asgar - being bound in a nuptial knot; their differences in characteristics make for interesting drama.

This serial tackles head-on the many cultural traditions – such as child marriage and marriage to the holy Quran and honour killings – that continue to plague women in our society. Mehar Bano and Shah Bano are two sisters who live in a huge haveli with their parents and brother. Mehar Bano's nikkah has taken place with her cousin, Nasir in her childhood. The play opens with her parents getting ready to send Mehar to her husband but he disappears from the country. Meanwhile, Mehar's brother has crooked plans of selling the haveli without informing the family.

Australia declare at 659 in 2nd Test

SYDNEY: Australia declared their first innings at 659 for four midway through the third day in the second Test against India at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday.

Captain Michael Clarke remained unbeaten on 329 with Mike Hussey not out 150 to give the home side an innings lead of 468 runs with more than two days' play remaining.

Clarke's knock was the joint 14th highest in Test cricket behind world record holder Brian Lara's 400.

Clarke batted for 617 minutes, faced 468 balls and hit 39 fours and one six.

He shared in a record unbroken 334-run partnership with Hussey, the most for any wicket for Australia against India.

India were bowled out for 191 on Tuesday's opening day.
